If you are in grade 7 - 12 and pregnant or already have a baby, Polly Fox Academy offers you a unique educational opportunity.

Polly Fox is more than a school. It's a community of young women with the same goal - to finish high school.

Teachers and staff help each girl realize her potential. You will learn how to develop healthy relationships, tap into the support systems that are so important to young mothers, learn coping skills and discover the many community resources available to you and your baby. At Polly Fox Academy, you'll blossom because you'll belong!

Flexible scheduling

You'll enjoy flexible scheduling adapted to the special needs of you and your child. We offer a blended curriculum - teacher-driven classes and NovaNet computer courses - so you can earn credits toward graduation more rapidly. Tutors are also available. Our summer school offers Ohio Graduation Test (OGT) tutorials, computer classes and an internship program that can improve your job readiness. Work/study experiences and independent study are available to qualified students.

Parenting classes & subsidized child care

Subsidized child care is available to each student with fees based on family income and Job & Family Service eligibility. The accredited site for infants and toddlers, operated by Toledo Day Nursery is near Polly Fox Academy. This nurturing environment is warm, safe and friendly. Transportation is provided between the site and Polly Fox.

Our child care staff will advise and support you as a new parent. A parenting education class will help you understand your child's development, both physically and emotionally. You'll learn how to care for your baby and how to deal with discipline concerns. We'll also explain the community resources that may be available to you.

On-site WIC, Help Me Grow and nurse educator

We have on-site support services, including WIC and Help Me Grow. Our nurse educator provides health education with a focus on pre-natal care. She'll answer your questions about pregnancy and medical concerns you might have about your child. She can also diagnose problems and refer you to a doctor so you don't have to rely on emergency room care.

Career prep that will enable you to be independent

We'll help you learn how to become financially independent so that you can take care of yourself and your child. You'll have the opportunity to participate in a career education program that includes skill assessment, job readiness training and mentoring opportunities. Job shadowing and internship placements are also offered. As a senior at Polly Fox, you'll create a portfolio that you can use in job interviews.

No tuition expense

Polly Fox Academy is free of charge to all girls including those who live outside the Toledo school district.
